Shared Still Lives
In this work, I am taking aspects of my current living environment - I live in a shared house of seven students - as a source of inspiration to make beautiful, surreal, extravagant photographs. Perhaps this process is a therapeutic coping strategy, or perhaps it is just a source of interesting imagery. Most of the images are inspired by an excess of materials that come with living as one of seven - from food, to furniture, to waste products such as toilet rolls, to laundry, and so on. Currently I am working through a series of sketches, and shooting mostly on 5x4 and 120 negatives.
