Glimmer

Reflecting on the evolution of spiritual practices, Glimmer explores the convergence of spirituality and modernity, and questions what it is we are really searching for.

Focussing on the experiences of young adults in Britain, portraits capture moments of spiritual engagement, while abstract images, mostly depicting the natural world,  begin to reveal the spiritual perspective of this generation.

These abstract images are initially collected from participants’ phone archives, recording moments where they felt a sense of spiritual wonder. Their low-res images are  re-photographed through the reflective and distorting surface of the phone screen, creating a dialogue between the individuals photographed and the things that ignite our collective spirituality.
